After many years of hobbies of all kinds, including cake decorating,
plus working with the Girl Scouts, Betty came across stamping with
some friends.
Starting a small group that met in her home weekly, for the fun of
stamping.
She also joined Close To Your Heart. The meetings in her home
grew, till she had a rather large following. That went on for six years,
till one day, several of the gals talked her into going to her first
stamp convention in Clearwater. She and Ray (her husband) went
up there, but said they would not stay long. A spark was lit that day.
They not only stayed the whole day, but also could not wait till the
next convention. When they came home, they started talking about
opening a store. Ray found a building to rent and everything was off
and running from there. She started in a smaller store, but by the
next year they were already looking for larger space. That turned out
to be around the corner, in the same building. She has now been in
that larger store about three years. The weekly Wed. night group still
meets every week at the large classroom space in the back of the
store. Many of those first customers have become good friends,
and till this day still support the store. Now with the help of her
husband Ray, who has done most of the carpentry work in the
building, along with their son Ron, it has become one of the best
looking and most well stock stamps store in the state. This past
year they also made the purchase of Old Town Crafts. With that
came their own stamp line, which Ron is now in charge of. Adding
many new stamps to the line. He also makes customs stamps to
order. He has become almost as knowledgeable about the art of
stamping as his mother. The two of them work in the store six day a
week. Taking care of a very large customer base. They have
become well known in the stamping world and do retail and
wholesale shipping almost daily. This winter they will do their first
convention in St Mary's. After taking that over, as part of the
purchase of Old Town Crafts.

Where will they go from here? Betty wants the store to be the best,
customer friendly store around. Always staying up on what's new in
the stamping world. Adding to the classes given monthly, and taking
care of the needs of her customers, one person at a time. You will
always find a friendly hello at the store. Betty and Ron want you to
feel welcome to come back many, many times.
